Electrical Panel Inspection FAQs
How often should an electrical panel be inspected?
There’s no fixed schedule, but a panel inspection makes sense when you buy a home, when the panel is 20+ years old, when you’re adding significant electrical loads (EV charger, hot tub, additions), or when you notice any warning signs like tripping breakers or burning smells.
What are Zinsco and Federal Pacific panels, and why are they dangerous?
Both are brands of electrical panels manufactured primarily in the mid-20th century that have documented safety issues — their breakers may fail to trip during overloads, increasing fire risk. If your home has either brand, a panel replacement is strongly recommended. MoJo can confirm your panel brand during the inspection.
How much does a panel inspection cost?
Contact MoJo for current pricing. Many panel inspections are completed in under an hour. If a panel upgrade is needed, you’ll receive a full written estimate before any work begins.
Can you upgrade my panel on the same visit?
In many cases, yes — if we have the right panel in stock and permits can be arranged. For planned panel replacements, we’ll schedule a dedicated installation day with utility coordination included.
