GFCI & AFCI Installation in Denver CO
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) and AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection are two of the most important electrical safety upgrades for any Denver home. Building codes have required them in an expanding list of locations for decades — but many older homes are still missing this protection. MoJo Home Services installs GFCI outlets, GFCI breakers, and AFCI breakers throughout the Denver Metro area.
GFCI protection prevents electrocution by shutting off power in milliseconds when it detects electricity flowing through an unintended path — like through a person. AFCI protection prevents electrical fires by detecting dangerous arc faults in wiring that can ignite insulation or surrounding materials. Both are required by the National Electrical Code in new construction, and both are smart upgrades for existing homes.

GFCI & AFCI FAQs
What’s the difference between GFCI and AFCI protection?
GFCI protects against ground faults — electricity flowing through an unintended path, like a person touching a live wire near water. It prevents electrocution. AFCI protects against arc faults — dangerous electrical arcing in damaged or deteriorated wiring that can cause fires. They address different hazards and are often required in different locations.
My home was built in 1995 — do I need to upgrade?
Probably. GFCI requirements have expanded significantly since the 1990s, and AFCI protection wasn’t widely required until the 2000s. Many homes from that era are missing protection in kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms. A MoJo audit will tell you exactly what’s missing.
Can I install GFCI outlets myself?
A basic GFCI outlet replacement is within reach for a handy homeowner. However, AFCI breaker installation requires working inside your electrical panel — which should only be done by a licensed electrician. If you’re unsure, let us handle it safely.
How much does GFCI outlet replacement cost?
Individual GFCI outlet replacements are straightforward and affordable. Volume discounts apply when upgrading multiple outlets in one visit. Contact MoJo for a free estimate based on your home’s needs.
