Home Theater Wiring FAQs
Do I really need dedicated circuits for my home theater?
For serious home theater setups — projectors, power amplifiers, subwoofers — dedicated circuits protect your equipment and improve performance. Sharing circuits with appliances or lighting can introduce electrical noise that degrades audio and video quality.
Can you hide wires inside the wall for my TV mount?
Yes. We install recessed in-wall outlet kits or run conduit inside the wall so your TV has power and cable connections with no visible wires. This is one of our most requested services.
How many outlets should a home theater room have?
A well-planned theater room typically needs 4–6 circuits: one for the display/projector, one or two for the AV receiver and sources, one for a subwoofer, and one or two for lighting and convenience outlets. We’ll help you plan the layout before any work begins.
Do I need a permit for home theater wiring?
New circuits and panel work require a permit. In-wall outlet relocation on existing circuits may not. MoJo will advise you on permit requirements and handle the application when needed.
