Outdoor Lighting FAQs
Do I need a permit for outdoor lighting installation?
New outdoor circuits typically require a permit. Wiring new outlets, adding sub-panels, or running new underground conduit all require permits in Denver Metro. MoJo handles the permit process as part of the project.
What’s the difference between line-voltage and low-voltage landscape lighting?
Low-voltage systems (typically 12V) are safer, easier to install in landscaping, and very energy-efficient — ideal for pathway and accent lighting. Line-voltage systems (120V) are better for high-output security floods and porch fixtures. Many landscape designs use both.
How long does outdoor lighting installation take?
A basic porch or security light swap takes 1–2 hours. A full landscape lighting system with underground wiring and multiple zones can take a full day or more depending on scope.
Can outdoor lighting be controlled from my phone?
Yes. We install smart outlets, smart switches, and smart controllers that integrate with apps, schedules, and voice assistants like Alexa and Google Home.
